Part A: Website Terms

4. Website use

You may use the Website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse the Website, attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt service availability, or use automated systems to scrape or copy content at scale without permission.

5. Content and intellectual property

The Website content (including text, branding, designs, and layout) is owned by or licensed to Onmain and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal or internal business use, but you must not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

6. Links to third parties

The Website may contain links to third-party sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability. Accessing third-party links is at your own risk.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or remove parts of the Website at any time.

8. Estimators, chatbots, and automated tools

If the Website provides estimator/chatbot features, outputs are guidance only and may be based on limited information. Final pricing, scope, and feasibility may require inspection or clarification. You should not rely on automated outputs as professional advice.

Part B: General Service Terms (IT maintenance, support, projects)

9. Quotes and scope

  • Any quote/estimate is based on the information you provide and may change if the scope, requirements, or underlying issue changes.
  • Where we provide an estimate range, the final price may require additional confirmation after diagnosis, testing, or review of requirements.
  • Unless agreed otherwise, services are limited to the scope explicitly confirmed in writing (message/email/booking).

10. Booking, access, and customer responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate information and reasonable access to devices, accounts, premises, or stakeholders needed to deliver the Services.
  • You are responsible for maintaining your own backups unless we explicitly agree in writing to provide backup services.
  • Where account credentials are required, you should use secure methods and only share access necessary for the task.
  • You must ensure you have rights/permissions to any software, content, data, or systems you ask us to work with.

11. Third-party products and services

Some services may depend on third-party providers (hosting, software licences, cloud platforms, payment processors, etc.). We are not responsible for third-party outages, changes, or failures. Any third-party fees are typically separate unless we explicitly include them in a written quote.

12. Changes and additional work

If you request changes outside the agreed scope, we may require a revised quote or timeline. We may pause work until changes are confirmed.

13. Fees, payment, and late payment

  • Fees are payable as agreed in the quote/booking. Some work may require an advance payment or deposit (for example, project work or reserved time slots).
  • Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are due on receipt.
  • We may suspend Services for overdue balances.

14. Cancellations

If you cancel or reschedule, please notify us as early as possible. Where we have reserved time, booked travel, or started work, you may be charged for time spent and any non-refundable costs already incurred.

15. Warranties and disclaimers (general services)

We will provide Services with reasonable care and skill. Except where required by law, we do not guarantee that Services will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that issues will never reoccur due to external factors (updates, user changes, third-party changes, new malware, hardware failure, etc.).

16. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation).

Subject to the above, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or anticipated savings;
  • indirect or consequential loss;
  • loss of data where you have not maintained backups (unless agreed otherwise in writing);
  • issues caused by third-party providers or factors outside our reasonable control.

Where liability is permitted, our total liability for a claim will not exceed the fees you paid to us for the specific Services giving rise to the claim.

17. Consumer rights

If you are a consumer (not acting for business purposes), UK consumer laws give you rights that cannot be excluded. These Terms do not affect those rights.

Part C: Hardware Repair Services Addendum (Onmain Systems)

This section applies only if we accept a hardware repair job (diagnostics/repair/replacement parts). If we do not offer hardware repairs at a given time, this section simply won't apply.

18. Diagnostics and quotations

  • A diagnostic fee may be charged for inspection and testing to identify faults and possible solutions.
  • After diagnostics, we will provide a repair quotation for approval before repair work continues.
  • If the device cannot be successfully repaired, only the diagnostic fee will apply (unless we agree otherwise in writing).

19. Replacement parts

  • Replacement parts are quoted in advance and fitted only with your approval.
  • Parts used may be OEM or high-quality equivalents. Part pricing and options will be communicated before installation.
  • Where parts availability or pricing changes, we may need to revise the quote and request re-approval.

20. Payment terms (hardware repairs)

  • Full payment is due after repair is completed and approved.
  • If a diagnostic fee applies and you decline the repair after diagnosis, the diagnostic fee remains payable.

21. Warranty and exclusions (hardware repairs)

  • We provide a 30-day limited warranty on repairs, covering the specific issue addressed.
  • This warranty does not cover physical damage, liquid damage, accidental damage, misuse, or issues unrelated to the original repair.
  • Devices with pre-existing faults may have higher risk of additional failure; we are not responsible for unrelated faults that appear later.

22. Data and devices

Repairs can carry a risk of data loss. You should back up your device before providing it to us. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, you remain responsible for backups and data security. If you provide device passcodes, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

Part D: MainSearch AI Terms

This section applies when you use MainSearch AI services.

23. MainSearch AI Overview

MainSearch AI is an artificial intelligence-powered service that provides instant estimates for home and device services, helps users find independent businesses, and facilitates quote requests.

By using MainSearch AI, you agree to the terms set out in this Part D in addition to all other applicable terms of this Agreement.

24. AI Estimates and Pricing

  • All estimates provided by MainSearch AI are indicative only and based on general pricing data and the information you provide.
  • AI estimates do not constitute a quote, offer, or contract. Actual prices may vary based on the specific requirements of your job, location, materials, and other factors.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI estimates and accept no liability for any difference between an AI estimate and actual costs.
  • For accurate pricing, you should always obtain formal quotes from qualified businesses.
  • AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or misinterpretations of your issue. The AI may occasionally misdiagnose problems, match you with the wrong type of business, or provide incorrect guidance. You acknowledge that AI-generated content should not replace professional advice, inspection, or diagnosis, and you agree to verify critical information with qualified professionals before making decisions.

25. MainSearch AI Subscriptions

MainSearch AI is available under tiered subscription plans:

  • Free: Limited AI interactions per month
  • Basic: Increased AI interactions per month
  • Pro: Unlimited AI interactions
  • Business: Unlimited AI interactions with additional features
  • Current subscription pricing and specific usage limits are displayed on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • Subscriptions are non-refundable for partial billing periods unless required by law. Under UK consumer law, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the start of a new subscription to cancel for a full refund, provided you have not actively used paid features during that period. By using paid features during the cooling-off period, you acknowledge that you may lose the right to a refund.
  • We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing and usage limits with reasonable notice.

26. Business Listings and Quote Verification

  • Businesses listed on MainSearch AI are independent third parties. We do not employ, endorse, verify, or guarantee any business unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Some Business Listings are created from publicly available information (such as online business directories) and may not have been actively claimed or verified by the business itself.
  • Quote Verification is a service where businesses can verify quotes through our platform. Verified quotes indicate the business has confirmed the pricing, but do not constitute our endorsement.
  • You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence before engaging any business, including verifying qualifications, certifications, insurance, and reviews.

27. Regulated Trades

For regulated trade services (including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, heating, gas, and construction work), the following applies:

  • The relevant business is solely responsible for maintaining appropriate certifications, qualifications, registrations (such as Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT, Part P compliance), and insurance.
  • While MainSearch AI may display certification information provided by or discoverable about businesses, we do not independently verify or guarantee the currency, accuracy, or validity of such information unless explicitly stated.
  • You must satisfy yourself as to the qualifications, certifications, and insurance of any business before engaging their services, particularly for work that could affect the safety of persons or property.
  • For gas work, ensure the installer is currently Gas Safe registered by checking the official register at gassaferegister.co.uk.
  • For electrical work, ensure compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations and check the installer's registration via NICEIC, NAPIT, or similar competent person schemes.
  • Onmain accepts no liability for work performed by independent businesses, including defective work, non-compliance with regulations, injury, or property damage. Any such claims must be pursued directly with the business concerned.

28. Business Listings: Claiming, Correction, and Removal

If you are a business owner and wish to:

  • Claim a listing: you may contact us at support@onmain.co.uk to verify your identity and claim your business profile.
  • Correct inaccurate information: email support@onmain.co.uk with the specific corrections and evidence (such as your website, Companies House record, or utility bill confirming the address). We will review and make reasonable corrections within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Request removal: email support@onmain.co.uk requesting removal. We will action valid removal requests promptly where there is no overriding lawful basis to maintain the listing.

We maintain listings under legitimate interest to connect customers with local businesses. We respect data protection rights and handle all claims, corrections, and removal requests in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

29. User Conduct

When using MainSearch AI, you must not:

  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Attempt to manipulate, reverse engineer, or abuse the AI system
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass businesses or other users
  • Circumvent usage limits or subscription restrictions
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to submit enquiries, scrape data, or otherwise interact with the platform
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without refund of any unused subscription time.

30. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
  • You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@onmain.co.uk. On deletion, we will remove your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to any legal retention requirements (such as accounting records).
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or pose a risk to other users or our platform. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to respond before termination.

31. Data and Privacy

  • Conversations with MainSearch AI may be stored to improve our services and for record-keeping purposes.
  • Information you provide (including name, contact details, location, and details of your request) may be shared with businesses when you request quotes. The business will then act as a data controller for the information you have chosen to share with them.
  • When you provide your postcode, we may use it to determine your approximate location within a 1-mile radius. This is used to provide locally relevant results, estimates, and business recommendations. We do not use your postcode to identify your exact address.
  • Onmain Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC127665.
  • Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

32. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Onmain, its directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • your use of MainSearch AI or any other Services;
  • services provided to you by third-party businesses found through MainSearch AI;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your violation of any rights of a third party, including intellectual property, privacy, or contractual rights;
  • any content or information you submit to the platform.

33. Limitation of Liability for MainSearch AI

MainSearch AI is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We are not liable for:

  • any decisions made based on AI estimates or AI-generated content;
  • the quality, safety, legality, or conduct of businesses found through the service;
  • any loss arising from reliance on AI-generated information;
  • service interruptions, technical issues, or data loss;
  • any acts or omissions of independent businesses listed on the platform;
  • regulatory compliance failures by listed businesses.

Nothing in this section limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation).

Subject to the above, our total liability for any claims arising from MainSearch AI use shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you have paid to us for the service in the preceding 12 months, or (b) £100.

34. Dispute Resolution

Before initiating any formal legal proceedings against Onmain, you agree to first contact us at support@onmain.co.uk to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. You will allow Onmain a minimum of 30 days from the date of your written notice to respond and attempt resolution before escalating the matter.

This does not limit your statutory rights to take legal action where required (for example, to prevent irreparable harm or where a limitation period is about to expire).

35. Force Majeure

Onmain is not liable for any failure or delay in performance of its obligations where such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemics, government actions, power outages, internet or telecommunications failures, third-party service provider failures, or cyberattacks.

36. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, except where consumer law or mandatory law requires otherwise.

The Services are primarily directed at users within the United Kingdom. If you access the Website or Services from outside the UK, you do so at your own risk and you are responsible for complying with local laws.

37. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely matches the intent of the original.

38. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written quote, booking, or service agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Onmain regarding the Services. They supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether written or oral.
